This is the second video of three breaking down essentially these things of how the face masks failed me.
COME BACK We have more masks to try out. Two more actually. Both are kid's sized. One is a disposable mask and the other was another fabric mask from Big Lot's. BIGGEST DOWNSIDE The hardest pill to swallow trying on all of these masks was the amount of money wasted. We wasted $100 with these masks alone. It's so frustrating to spend that money and not have any work. Masks aren't returnable once open so there was no way to get any money back for the Target or Amazon masks purchased. BEHIND THE SCENES For some reason Mrs. Like struggled with the sound for these videos. There is a slight possibility that the adjustment for the microphone volume changed at some point and never went back so some segments may sound differently than others. Our sincerest apologies. We struggled with recording this video too. We did TWO different days of recording all the way through. One was in July 2020 and when Mrs. Like went to edit it she wasn't liking what she was seeing so she recorded a whole new video on September 19th. Most of the footage for this video was recorded on 9/19/2020. Some of the Audio may have been recorded on 10/14/2020 This video was finished & uploaded on 10/14/2020 This video was published on 11/12/2020 Microphone | Maono AU - A25Plus Camera | Canon 80d (with in camera sound for most of the video)

Mrs. Like had a box of disposable masks from when she had a PICC line previously. They weren't idea. They were huge, but she had figured out a way to manipulate them so they would work in a pinch. However as time went on, those masks were getting fewer and fewer. She tried other disposable masks, but they weren't coming close to fitting even with adjustments. Thus began the journey of finding hopefully a reusable mask for when she ventured out of the house. Keep in mind that Mrs. Like stays at home a lot. Introvertness is in her core so being at home wasn't a huge problem. We also had an emergency kit as well that had all of the essentials we needed so we didn't need to leave the house. However as time went on, it became necessary to go on a hunt for more masks, sanitizer and other things that were needed. She decided to do a face mask video after at least the 12th mask was purchased and it was so long that she did a quick try on haul for all 12 masks and then planned to do a longer video for all 12, but didn't want a 30 minute video. Mrs. Like tried making a couple of masks which did not work. Then she went on a buying spree. Here is a quick review of the 12 masks that were purchased (she did purchase a few more, but couldn't find them for the review). This is a quick review, but you can find the name & price point at each mask as well as why it didn't work for me. Expect 3 or 4 more videos which will explain in more details why they didn't work for me and which one I actually am doing okay with after all. WHAT TO EXPECT |
BEHIND THE SCENES |
Canon 80D camera was used for this footage. For editing, it required the use of a lot of Canva Green Screen cards. If you'd like to see the tutorial on how to create the green screen captions for videos, please check out the video below as well. The goal was to create a quick video for this which was very difficult for Mrs. Like. She shared this with ONE friend who made a recommendation on how to improve it which she took gladly. The music for this one is Lucid Dreamer from YouTube Audio Library as well as a pop sound. Our microphone is the Maono AU-A425 Plus. We used VLC to export the audio from the video and then Audacity to clean up the audio before putting them back together again. We used removebg website and canva for creating the thumbnail. We originally filmed footage for a video like this on July 14th, but found we just weren't fond of the footage so we filmed with just Mrs. Like on September 19th. We worked on the edits for this on September 20th to the 23rd for a planned upload on October 30th. We hope you enjoy it. We will have a more extensive blog about masks 1 to 5 next week. |
