Wearing a face mask became a very difficult thing during the pandemic. Mrs. Like tried making a couple of masks which did not work. Then she went on a buying spree. Here is a quick review of the 12 masks that were purchased (she did purchase a few more, but couldn't find them for the review). This is a quick review, but you can find the name & price point at each mask as well as why it didn't work for me. Expect 3 or 4 more videos which will explain in more details why they didn't work for me and which one I actually am doing okay with after all. WHAT TO EXPECT |
BEHIND THE SCENES |
Canon 80D camera was used for this footage. For editing, it required the use of a lot of Canva Green Screen cards. If you'd like to see the tutorial on how to create the green screen captions for videos, please check out the video below as well. The goal was to create a quick video for this which was very difficult for Mrs. Like. She shared this with ONE friend who made a recommendation on how to improve it which she took gladly. The music for this one is Lucid Dreamer from YouTube Audio Library as well as a pop sound. Our microphone is the Maono AU-A425 Plus. We used VLC to export the audio from the video and then Audacity to clean up the audio before putting them back together again. We used removebg website and canva for creating the thumbnail. We originally filmed footage for a video like this on July 14th, but found we just weren't fond of the footage so we filmed with just Mrs. Like on September 19th. We worked on the edits for this on September 20th to the 23rd for a planned upload on October 30th. We hope you enjoy it. We will have a more extensive blog about masks 1 to 5 next week.

WHAT TO EXPECT |
We chose Maono AU-A425 Plus microphone because frankly it was in our budget. We looked at several, but this seemed to fit the bill the best. We ordered this microphone on July 19 (2020) and on July 21 were so disappointed when the wrong box showed up. Fortunately, the correct one showed up on July 23 (2020) and we were able to start putting together some videos. We paid $69.99 for it, but there was a broken small tripod. The seller made it right by offering us two choices. We could either take a partial refund or they would send us a new tripod. We chose the partial refund and chose another small refund to replace the broken one. Fortunately, the small tripod we found was actually less than the refund so we saved a bit of money in the end. It was a little weird to put together for someone that has NO idea what they were doing. You can see a bit of that struggle in the video. However once it was put together, it was very much a plug in the USB into your computer and it automatically recognized it. There was very little to do prior to having to start recording. BEHIND THE SCENES | On July 21st during the "wrong box" portion of the video, Mrs. Like hadn't been to the salon since January 29th. She originally had an appointment on the very day the salons closed due to COVID 19 and gave her slot to someone else. Finally she was able to be seen on July 23rd which happened to be the day the new microphone arrived. Some scenes are recorded before the hair cut, but most are after the hair cut. TECHNICAL BEHIND THE SCENES| We wanted to use the microphone for a lot of videos before putting it on our channel. We pulled the footage from our files and started to edit this video on October 6th and finished it on October 9th. There was a basic edit done with all of the footage on the 6th. We did nothing on the 7th with the video at all. Open Shot seemed very slow on the 8th so the decision was made to export the video not completed and then put the final touches on the 9th. The reason it was so slow was there were extra files at give or take minute 25 so the program thought we were working on a 25 minute video and not a 14 minute video. In the video, we left out the scene where we spoke into the microphone and just had the play back. It felt redundant to have both when clearly the playback could be heard. The main two songs used in this video are Take Your Time by Dan Lebowitz & Magical Dirt by Sir Cubworth through YouTube's Audio Library. We briefly used Play Song by Jonh Deley and the 41 Players |
